The VT SS Series 1 is a model that often gets over looked, for the arrival of the Series 2 update saw the addition of an engine option that would revolutionise the Australian performance car scene for good. Lets forget about that little tick box which was labeled ‘All alloy 5.7-litre GEN III’ for a minute and focus on Glen’s 1998 Series 1 VT SS.
Factory fitted with the VT 5-litre roller motor and automatic gear box, Glen thought it would be a good idea to spice things up a little and what better way to liven up the standard donk than to add a little boost. This was done via the installation of an intercooled Vortech V1 Supercharger, T-Rex fuel pump, larger injectors and a full exhaust system to let the neighbors know you’re home. The autobox was also replaced with the manual cog swapper and Exeedy heavy duty clutch which then transfers the entire grunt to 19” ANZ rims.
