Here it is. Another Car of the Week choice from deep within the confines of the My Commodore section. This week it’s the clean VX SS cross Pontiac GTO that receives the gong as a standout winner. After recently receiving a full engine rebuild comprising of new rods, polished heads, forged pistons and 224/230 cam, the LS1 5.7-litre now breaths a bit heavier thanks to the addition of a GenT turbo kit. After a good flog on the dyno, the beast reeled off 312rwkW on a very conservative run-in tune of only 7psi. So far the white wonder has thundered down the quarter in a very respectable 12.3seconds which was more than enough to put a smile on the owners face. |
