After a much strenuous search of our forums, the decision for the last Car of the Week for 2006 has been decided. Many of our forum members and magazine readers will have seen this car. It certainly is no stranger to the Street Commodores community. With a build spanning over 14 years and soaking up ‘Divorce spec’ amounts of cash, this VK Calais Director is one neat ride with just about everything you could possibly want. From the 332ci stroker making 208kW at the wheels, to the immaculately presented Brock interior featuring fold out LCD screens.

Martin is no stranger to the drag strip either, running his VK to a personal best of 13.8 @103MPH at Western Sydney International Dragway, in total street trim including a massive stereo on board. This weeks Car of the Week pays perfect homage to the saying ‘driven, not hidden’, and rounds off the 2006 year with a classic in Commodore history.
