The Triple Eight Engineering Racing Team announced that they will not appeal the decision made by stewards in a post race hearing into the Kelly versus Lowndes battle that occurred on the weekend.

Lowndes stated that he was disappointed at not being able to race Kelly to the finish line for honors in the Championship, but was comfortable to not appeal the ruling.

“We are comfortable not to proceed with an appeal,” Lowndes stated. “At the end of the day we have presented our case twice and Rick was found guilty of careless driving and his drive-thru penalty regarded as appropriate.

“On the day we had superior car speed and it was going to take an accident or incident for them (HSV Dealer Team) to bear us, unfortunately we had both.”
