Just after we posted footage of Travis Pastrana launching his STi over 250-feet on New Year's Eve comes footage of Monster Energy team member Johnny Greaves propelling his truck over 310-feet to take the current world record for 4-wheel-drives.

Of course he did!

ravis Pastrana drove his Red Bull Subaru WRX STI off of a boat-mounted ramp, over 250-or-so feet of water, and onto another ramp floating on a barge. In earlier practices for the jump, at first he didn't stick the landing, then he skipped the landing part entirely. The New Year's event would be for keeps, though.

This footage is from a drag event in 1975, while funnycar technology was obviously still in a trial and error phase... one decent error being the fact that the cars were capable of doing this!

The source of this vid claimed that the legendary John Force actually piloted a rear-mount Funnycar as well at a similar chronological point.

THe fabled Nurburgring has been an increasingly popular place to test cars over the last handful of years, with TV shows and wannbe heroes taking to the treacherous circuit for funsies and some desiring kudos from strangers. Hell, even the OEMs are taking their sports cars and supercars there these days and using it as some form of benchmark to outgun one another.

Despite all this, here's Corvette racer Jan Mannussen driving the wheels off of a mean Corvette ZR1 around the track. It's almost worth it just for the sound, but the sense of speed you get from the on-board camera is phenomenal.
