Springnats rolls into Shepparton

Category: Street Commodores
Posted: 27.11.2007 14:29

Springnats is always one event on the Victorian calendar that attracts one hell of a crowd, and the 2007 15th running of the event was certainly no different. Featuring tons of top quality street cars all giving them hell in a wide variety of driving events that let the rubber fly.

This year proved a little different from Springnats of past with the debut of a new TV show, Blood Sweat and Gear, kicking off and running throughout the Springnats festivities.

Springnats has always been more about driving your car rather than parking it, so there is little surprise that the skid pan was the place to be for spectators wanting to get a quick hit of tyre frying action.

Previously only available as a factory fitted option, the high-tech Holden Assist Ultra is now available as an accessory on all VE models including Statesman and Caprice.

The system works by connecting with the GSM mobile phone network, enabling a powerful partnership between your car and the outside world. If the vehicle is stolen, Holden Assist can force the shutdown of the vehicle and dispatch Police if necessary. Accidents are also taken car of by Holden Assist, with an immediate connection to emergency vehicles if required.

Holden’s Director of Marketing, Philip Brook, believes the Holden Assist option is perfect for drivers who want that added piece of mind.

“Our customers appreciate the extra level of protection for Holden Assist Ultra, especially when considering their family’s safety. It’s easy to use, integrates seamlessly into Commodore’s controls and the 24/7 contact with Holden Assist operators gives customers extra peace of mind,” he said.

“If you or a family member is out driving on their own, or living in a remote area, it is comforting to know that id something goes wrong held is close at hand.”

Holden’s Assist program has unlocked more than 360 cars remotely, detected 17 crashes and tracked 14 stolen cars over a variety of around 5,000 customers. The program has also provided SOS support in over 600 cases.

Holden Assist Ultra is priced at $1990 plus GST and fitment, which also includes a three year service to the program.
