1905: A year before the devastating San Franscisco fires that damn near levelled the entire city, and here we are with a unique view into that seemingly serene yet chaotic world of Market Street.

With a camera on the front of an SF tram, you take a seven minute wander down the wide street, almost everyone in a suit and hat or heavy, ankle length dress. Cars and carts seemingly have no road rules to follow as the horseless carriages, carts and pedestrians all juggle for space and security.

Highly interesting video of a simpler, more honest and innocent time.

We've made no secret of our hatred of all things rear spoiler. Almost without exception they make any car look shithouse. Perhaps the little lip spoilers on some of the HSV models are OK; but we're getting away from the point.

What you see here isn't simply some abonination of design - yet another useless accessory to feed the consumerist masses. This could actually serve a purpose, despite it's hideousness.

Hidden inside the monster wing - which itself has a solar panel on top - is a retractable series of solar panels which would both protect the car from the sun whilst parked, but also turn that sunshine into power to feed any and all electrical needs within the car; potentially even powering the A/C while the car is turned off.

Ugly but kinda clever.
